Men's Kilt, 5 Yard, 100% Wool, Traditional Hand Made TO Your Own Specifications

Description: This Kilt is made to measure to the very highest standards by our expert kiltmakers in Scotland.

Our premium quality five yard kilts are hand-made by highly experienced kiltmakers to your own specifications. Made from a full 5 yards of kilt material (not from 4 yards like some of our competitors). The front edge has a double fringe, and we also include two belt (or sporran strap) loops at the back.

If your tartan is not here there is still a chance we can get it so just email us or call us and we will try our best to help.

Kilt Pleating There are two basic methods of pleating a kilt. In one - called pleating to the stripe - a vertical stripe is selected and the fabric will be folded so that this stripe runs down the center of each pleat. The result is a style where horizontal bands appear along the back and sides of the kilt (see the gallery photo "pleating to the stripe"). A kilt pleated in this fashion will look different from the front than it does from the back. It is often called military pleating because this is the style of pleating adopted by most military regiments. It is also widely used by pipe bands.

The other style of pleating is called pleating to the sett (see example). Here, the fabric is folded in such a way that the pattern of the sett is repeated all around the kilt. This is done by taking up one full sett in each pleat. The result is a kilt which looks much the same from the front as from the back. The tartan in this picture is Heather Isle.

(Rush Orders - We have over 2000 kilts in stock and we are experts in getting Kilts Fast. If you need a kilt fast give us a call on 0044 1592 262 464 - Surcharges may apply)

Most kilts will be completed and ready for dispatch within six weeks. However some tartans which are available to select are woven on a per order basis and kilts made from these may take an extra 2-6 weeks to be completed depending on the complexity of the weave. You can tell which of the tartans are affected as they are marked "Special Weave" when selecting the weight of fabric.

when ordering a special weave tartan please phone the off ice to see if this is available
