The Black Watch was formed as a Regiment in 1740 at Aberfeldy. It was originally two Regiments, the 42nd and the 73rd, but in 1881 they were amalgamated to become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Black Watch. The Black Watch Piper contrary to popular belief wears the Royal Stewart Tartan kilt and not the Black Watch Tartan. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother is Colonel-in-Chief of the Black Watch Regiment. Sculptures UK has since 1994 been creating affordable reproductions and collectables.
